Privacy Policy
Last updated 31 August 2026
This policy explains what we do with the information you give us through this website, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be got past.
Who we are
DYSTIL LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17256030, with its registered office at 54 Northampton Avenue, Slough, SL1 3BN, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here, which means we decide why and how it is used.
For anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete your information, email askus@dystil.ai.
What we collect
Almost everything we hold is information you typed into a form on this site. We do not buy contact details, and we do not build profiles of people who have not contacted us.
When you send an enquiry or register
Depending on the form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the university or degree you named, your career goal, the technology skills and experience you described, the programme you chose, your company and focus area if you enquired on behalf of an organisation, and anything else you wrote in a message or feedback box.
We also record the date and time, a reference number, and whether our reply reached you.
When you pay for a programme
Payments are taken on our payment provider's own secure page. Card numbers never reach this website or our systems, and we never see or store them. What we keep is the fact that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the reference our payment provider gives it, so we can match a payment to a registration.
If you start a registration and do not pay, the details you typed are deleted within 24 hours. We keep your name and email address so that we can follow up and ask whether you still want a place.
When you browse the site
We measure visits in a way that does not identify you and does not use advertising cookies. We also store a small note in your browser recording how you first reached us, such as the search or social link you followed, so that we know which of our efforts are working. That note is attached to a form if you later send one.
Why we hold it, and our lawful basis
- To answer you and to run a programme you signed up for. Where you have registered and paid, we need your details to perform that contract.
- To reply to an enquiry. Where you have asked us something, we rely on our legitimate interest in answering the question you asked.
- To keep proper business records. We are legally required to keep records of what we sold and to whom.
- To improve what we offer. Feedback and visit measurement rest on our legitimate interest in understanding whether our programmes and our site are any good, balanced against the very limited detail involved.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
We use service providers to run the website and the business, and they handle personal information only on our instructions. They fall into these categories:
- hosting and infrastructure providers, who run the website and the database
- email delivery providers, who send the notification and confirmation emails
- a payment provider, which takes card payments and holds the card details we never see
- professional advisers such as our accountant, where they need it
Some of these providers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where information is transferred abroad, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as approved contract terms.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Registration details before payment — deleted within 24 hours if the fee is not paid.
- Enquiries, taster registrations and feedback — 24 months from our last contact with you.
- Records of people who paid for a programme — 7 years, because company and tax records must be kept for six years after the accounting period they relate to.
- Name and email of somebody who started a registration and did not pay — 24 months, so we can ask whether you still want a place.
We delete sooner if you ask us to and we have no legal reason to keep it.
Keeping in touch
If you register or enquire, we may email you about the programme you asked about and about future cohorts of the same kind. Every one of those emails will tell you how to stop them, and you can ask us to stop at any time by emailing askus@dystil.ai. Stopping them does not affect the emails we must send you about a programme you have paid for.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it, where we have no legal reason to keep it
- stop or limit what we do with it
- hand it over in a portable form
- stop relying on legitimate interests, by objecting to that use
Email askus@dystil.ai and we will reply within one month. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies and similar storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our visit measurement does not use cookies at all. The one thing we store in your browser is the note described above recording how you first reached us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings, and the site works normally without it.
Children
Our programmes are intended for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect information about children. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where a change matters to you, we will tell you directly.
